The Hearth Gallery
Bowen Island Arts Council, also known as the Hearth, is dedicated to stimulating the development of arts and cultural projects for the entire community. The arts council operates the Gallery @ Cove Commons, which showcases 10 – 13 exhibits a year, produces literary and musical performances, offers an array of courses and workshops, and circulates a weekly Arts & Cultural Events update.
Catching Stars Gallery
Catching Stars Gallery is a BC Artist Cooperative on Bowen Island committed to showcasing handcrafted artworks. Dedicated to promoting artists and offering a permanent location for them to showcase and sell their work. Carefully curated collection of artworks from island artists and beyond, Catching Stars Gallery allows locals and tourists alike the opportunity to purchase unique artworks and support the creative community.
Arts Pacific Gallery The Arts Pacific Gallery is a collective of artists living on Bowen Island. The gallery features artwork by local Bowen Island artists including paintings, ceramics, jewellery, fibre arts, and woodart. Located in Artisan Square.
Sugar Cube Cabin and Gallery
The Sugar Cube Gallery is a small, cedar structure only about 150 sq. ft in size located in the heart of Snug Cove on Bowen Island. Although small in stature, the Gallery is a place for having conversations and making connections. The Gallery has plans to reopen in the spring of 2021.
FotoFilmic
FotoFilmic is a Vancouver-based arts organization located at 461 Bowen Island Trunk Rd. The organization is dedicated to supporting emerging photographic artists through exhibitions, publications, as well as seminars, public talks and master workshops. FotoFilmic Master Workshops are mall-group mini-retreats designed to boost the creative practice of growing photographers through direct mentoring.
Fibre Arts Guild
The Bowen Island Fibre Arts Guild has monthly meetings held in members’ homes, as well as Christmas and June pot-lucks. A monthly newsletter is also sent out to members. The Guild has 30 members of varied interests and backgrounds. There have been several group projects, such as the Houses and Homes quilt and the Piano Cozy. Other smaller projects, sharing information and ideas, Show and Tell, and great desserts are still part of the monthly meetings. New members are always welcome. Field Trips

Bowen Island Seniors Keeping Young Society (SKY)A Registered Charity/organization that provides programs geared to maintaining the physical and mental wellbeing of Bowen’s residents 55 and over. Field Trip programs include an ongoing series of trail walks on-island, educational and stimulating excursions off-island to museums, parks, and other places of interest, along with other fun outdoor activities for socializing and meeting new friends. Additional programs are being added as requested by members so there will be something for everyone. Bowen Nature Club
The Bowen Nature Club focuses on learning, discovery and enjoyment of the island’s natural history. The club is made up of Bowen Island individuals and families getting outside to share their love of the natural world. Most outings are free of charge, however participants must be paid-up members or they must purchase an annual or day membership before the outing starts. Bowen Island Garden Club
Open Gardens are held during the spring, summer, and fall. These occasions provide an opportunity to see how horticultural enthusiasts cope with our unique conditions including deer, a lack of summer water, and poor soil to create amazingly beautiful spaces. They also provide a great way to meet other Bowen Island gardeners. Off-island day tours provide a cost effective way for members to visit unique public and private gardens as well as specialty nurseries. The club hosts other garden clubs for a tour of selected Bowen Island gardens, or travel to tour the gardens of other garden clubs. Example trips include: Day Trip to Linnaea Nursery, Garden Tour with Gibsons Garden Club, Seattle Garden Show with the Squamish Garden Club.
Parkbus
An express bus service to BC Provincial Parks currently operating in the warm summer months. Destinations include Garibaldi, Joffre lakes, Cypress, Golden Ears, Squamish Chief, and Alice Lake. Seniors pricing is available.

Film and Theatre

Bowen Island Public Library
Search the library’s catalogue to find books, movies, and music. New films and TV shows are available as well as foreign films and documentaries. Borrow DVDs and Blu-rays for 7 days, with options to renew items. Online resources are also available for viewing films and videos online through databases like IndieFlix.
Tir-na-nOg Theatre School
Tir-na-nOg produces year-round live theatre productions on stage. Their space is also available for concerts, plays, and lectures for the Bowen Island community.

Bowen Island Adventures
Bowen Island Adventures is a learning-based adventure company that provides unique activities and programs that share the wonders of Bowen Island and the natural world. Guided Adventures include mushroom foraging, outdoor climbing, trail running, and ocean swimming. Self-guided outdoor games include a scavenger hunt and bingo. Community programs include trail running and open water swimming.
Bowen Island Golf Club
The Bowen Island 9-hole golf course features views of Howe Sound. Three sets of tee boxes allow challenge and reward for players of all skill levels. There are Men’s and Women’s leagues as well as tournaments and lessons. The club offers membership options and smartcard packs for green fee discounted rates.
Bowen Island Yacht Club
Bowen Island Yacht Club was founded in 1987 to encourage and organize sail training, sailboat racing, and social activities for boaters living on Bowen Island. Major club activities include the popular Round Bowen Race, Spring Race Series, Devil’s Tankard Fall Series, and a Summer Sail Training program.
Bowen Island Trail Society
Volunteer organization dedicated to building and maintaining Bowen’s Crown trail network for non-motorized users. Activities include trail stewardship, maintenance, and building, fundraising, events, monthly hikes and trail runs.

SKY sponsors “Gather for Games” in partnership with the Bowen Island Public Library. Bowen Island Community Choir

Treehouse Studio
The Treehouse Studio is a boutique destination recording studio located on Bowen Island. Combining the very best of modern digital and old-school analog recording gear, the Treehouse offers producers and artists the opportunity to collaborate in a natural environment.
Rhythm Keepers
Shasta Martinuk and Brian Hoover are certified TaKeTiNa rhythm teachers, drum and song circle facilitators, healing sound practitioners, as well as music and voice coaches. Experience the TaKeTiNa Rhythm Process on Bowen Island. Participate in a drum circle, learn to play the djembe or other percussion instruments, attend a SoulTime Creativity Retreat, and celebrate creativity through music, dance, writing, visual art, and play, or join a song circle facilitated by Shasta and Brian.
Earth SoundsEarthSounds is a world music choir drawing on vocal folk traditions of North America, Latin America, Eastern Europe, South Africa and more… From Jubilee Gospel Quartets to Georgian lullabies to South African song and dance – we will stretch our voices in many directions, widen our knowledge of singing styles from around the world and deepen our understanding of where the music comes from. Ladies Madrigal SingersThe Ladies Madrigal Singers is a group of approximately 18 women, singing accompanied music, under the direction of Lynn Williams. The Ladies Madrigal Singers (affectionately known as The Madz) rehearse weekly. They sing songs ranging from sacred and secular to lighter pieces, sometimes in different languages, sometimes very comical.  The Ladies Madrigal Singers are an invite only group, so one only needs to contact Lynn Williams at (604) 947-0090 to request an audition, or at least begin the process. You will need to be able to read music, or learn quickly, and work on the music weekly.
Threshold Choir  A group of women who sing to give others comfort. They sing when invited in private homes, hospices, care facilities and hospitals.The program began with end-of-life comfort but has expanded to cover people returning from hospital and others facing difficult issues. The Gym on Bowen
Physical fitness training facility that is open Monday-Friday. Staff members at The Gym on Bowen are actively enriching the lives of members and creating a community of like minded people who love being healthy and strong. Yearly and monthly membership rates, as well as drop-in prices available.
Positively Fit
Bowen Island’s Boutique Fitness Studio offers personal training, boxing, and group training. Monthly and yearly membership rates are available. Located at 1044 Senior Road.
Kelly Konno Studio
Kelly Konno Studio is a dance studio open to kids and adults on Bowen Island. KK Studio is a place to let your imagination and creativity be free. It is a training ground for different forms of dance such as, ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, musical theatre, and contemporary. KK Studio also hosts Bowen Dance Cardio, a dance cardio workout class.
  
Hearts in Motion Walking Group
Encourage people to participate in regular physical activity by walking. Walking clubs at Park Royal Mall, Caulfield Village, Capilano Mall, and Parkgate.
North Shore Keep Well Society
A seniors exercise and wellness program that provides recreational classes and health checks. This is a free and inclusive service located on the North Shore.

Move for Life! DVD
Move for Life!, a physical activity video for older people, was created through a partnership between the BC Recreation and Parks Association and the Ministry of Health. It provides physical activity instruction and tips for older people and demonstrates how physical activity can improve their lives. Move for Life! can be downloaded from the SeniorsBC website.
WalkBC
WalkBC encourages individual and group walking to increase overall health in communities through a range of programs that promote walking. WalkBC was created through a joint initiative between the Heart & Stroke Foundation and the BC Recreation & Parks Association. Resources on the site include walk programs and interactive maps.
