SPUD.ca
SPUD is an online grocery delivery service. Their groceries are sourced directly from producers and farmers. The site offers service to the Vancouver area, including Bowen Island. Delivers to Bowen every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday (free delivery for orders over $100) Saturday and Sunday ( free delivery).
Fresh Street Market
Shop online with Fresh Street Market and have your order delivered from the West Vancouver store. Delivery available every Tues/Wed/Thurs/Fri/Sun; choose your delivery time through the online shopping website. Delivery fee is $10.49.
Stong’s Market
Stong’s is a local, full-service grocery store established in 1931 in Vancouver. They are 100% BC owned and operated. Weekly delivery options to Bowen every Monday and Thursday. There is a delivery fee of $14.99.

All Around the House
All Around the House is a house cleaning and disinfecting company on Bowen Island. All Around The House has been providing cleaning services to Bowen Islanders since 2002. They offer a variety of cleaning services, including weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly scheduled cleaning, special event preparation or clean-up, spring cleaning, move-out/move-in, and more.

Meal Preparation Support

Better MealsA Snug Cove House program providing highly nutritious meals prepared by Better Meals and delivered bi-weekly by Bowen volunteers. Menus are available at the Pharmacy and online at Better Meals. For information contact Sue Ritchie at 604-947–0225 or email at sueritchie@telus.net. Orders are taken every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month and deliveries made on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays. The program is very flexible with no minimum order and no delivery charge.
The Ruddy Potato Whole Foods Market
Bowen Island’s Ruddy Potato Market in Village Square offers ready-to-go dinners made fresh daily in their kitchen.
Good Food
 
Good Food is a meal kit delivery subscription service, with a variety of meal plans that include ingredients already portioned and ready for cooking. Prices start at $9 per portion. Delivery days are Wednesdays and Fridays.
Food On Bowen
Bowen resident, Guillermo, provides Restaurant Food Delivery from Bowen restaurants on his bicycle. Food On Bowen is meant to save you a trip to the cove and keep you safe and comfy in your home.
Nurse Next Door
Nurse Next Door provides in-home cooking for seniors, in addition to home care services. Their team can provide thoughtful in-home cooking services for seniors to ensure an enjoyable culinary experience at every meal. As part of Nurse Next Door’s meals for seniors services, your caregiver will also handle grocery shopping or accompany you on your daily errands.

Nurse Next Door provides senior home care. Their services include companionship, comprehensive home care, end-of-life care, homemaking, meal preparation, respite care, and more.
Vancouver Coastal Health Home Care Nursing
You or your physician can contact the central intake office of Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) to arrange nursing support. There are various levels of coverage through MSP. Registered nurses will do home visits on Bowen Island.
Bayshore
Bayshore HealthCare provides home and community health care services and is a Canadian-owned company. Bayshore HealthCare is frequently employed on Bowen Island to provide personal care services and medical services at home.
Evergreen Nursing
Evergreen Nursing provides home care and In-home nursing services. Services include compassionate home care and nursing services with well-trained staff and 24/7 phone support. Homemaking and personal care plans can be tailored for your needs to help relieve daily challenges.

LivingWell Home Care Services
LivingWell services include live-in care, hourly care, and specialized care. Live-in care is ideal for those who might otherwise require care at a facility but wish to remain at home and maintain quality of life. Hourly care includes regular assistance with daily living activities to promote safety and prevent injury for those needing support to remain at home.
Community Nursing
Community nursing services are provided by licensed nursing professionals to clients who require acute, chronic, palliative or rehabilitative support. Generally, community nursing services are provided on a short-term basis and the community nurses will assist you and your family to be confident in taking over your care at home. Home Support
Home support services help seniors remain independent and live in their own home for as long as possible. Direct care services are provided by community health workers to clients who require personal assistance with activities of daily living. In addition, community health workers may perform some specific nursing and rehabilitation tasks that have been delegated by health care professionals. Home support services are usually provided over a longer period of time, but can be on a short-term basis after a discharge from hospital or as part of end-of-life care.

Peer Support

Special Services
Special  Services is a program created by the West Vancouver Seniors’ Activity Centre. Their Telefriend Program connects volunteers and lonely or isolated seniors, who share similar interests and concerns. Volunteers provide friendly telephone visiting service, call 604-925-7281. The Special Services program has been expanded to provide expanded outreach during Covid-19. 
Technology for Living
This website provides information on environmental control systems to assist with control devices in homes, as well as offering peer support. Space for people to listen to each other’s concerns and share information.
Senior Peer Counselling of BC
A non-profit provincial organization that addresses the wellbeing of aged persons by promoting and supporting community-based peer counselling services. Peer counselling is a process designed to support and enhance the social and mental well-being of individuals facing life transitions and challenges. Senior Peer Counselling services provide confidential, no-cost, one-to-one support with the help of trained volunteers.

Right at Home care workers help clients be as independent as possible, and provide safety, skill, comfort, and compassion while respectfully assisting with all personal care and hygiene needs.

Vancouver Coastal Health’s Home Support
Vancouver Coastal Health’s publicly-subsidized home support services helps people remain independent and safe in their own homes for as long as possible. Services are based on personal care needs and situation. Home support services provide help with daily living activities, special exercises, medication administration, and relief for caregivers.

Self-Management BC
Self-management programs in BC are for persons with chronic health conditions and their family members. These are evidence-based programs that provide information, teach practical skills, and give people the confidence to manage their health conditions.
Choice in Supports for Independent Living
This BC program provides self-directed options for eligible home support clients. CSIL clients receive funds directly from their local health authority to purchase their own home support services. Clients become employers who manage all aspects of their home support, from hiring and supervising staff to overseeing how CSIL funds are spent.
