Family Caregivers of BC | Family Caregivers of British Columbia is a registered non-profit dedicated to supporting family caregivers. Their website is a hub for resources, events, connection, and support for caregivers. Attend virtual support groups for caregivers, and find resources including their podcast Caregivers Out Loud which highlights and shares the voices of caregivers. |
Alzheimer Society’s Family Caregiver Series | The Family Caregiver Series is a five-session education series for family members caring for a person with dementia. Participants will learn about dementia, practical coping strategies, and early planning. |

End of Life / Hospice
End-of-Life Care | Supportive and compassionate care that focuses on comfort, quality of life, respect for personal health-care treatment decisions, support for the family, and psychological, cultural, and spiritual concerns for dying people and their families. Palliative care is specialized medical care for people with serious illness – whatever the diagnosis. Care can be provided wherever the client is living, whether at home, in hospice, an assisted living residence or a long-term care home. Canadian Virtual Hospice | The Canadian Virtual Hospice provides support and personalized information about palliative and end-of-life care to patients, family members, health care providers, researchers, and educators. A safe place to sort through issues related to death and dying. Their “Ask a Professional” feature, gives Canadians direct access to health specialists online. The online serviceis intended to provide information and support to help make sense in times of confusion, compassion in times of isolation, and reassurance in times of anxiety. |

Coastal Palliative Care’s Bereavement Support | The Psychosocial Patient and Family Support Team includes patient and family support counsellors, providing confidential counselling and support services to the patients and family members (or caregivers) who are connected to the North Shore Palliative and Supportive Care Program. |

The centre offers health and wellness information, and personal health navigation for those having difficulty accessing the health services they need. Community Mental Health Services | Vancouver Coastal Health’s services include the Geriatric Psychiatry Outreach team, which provides comprehensive geriatric psychiatry assessment and treatment. The program is intended for patients over 65 and suffering from dementia, delirium, disruptive behaviour, incontinence, and failure to thrive. |

Seniors Keeping Young (SKY) | An organization on Bowen Island that caters specifically to seniors and works to create community by offering weekly programs. Programs include exercise sessions, speaker series, educational and entertaining ‘adventure’ trips. S.K.Y. also takes part in community events like Bowfest, Steamship Days, the Christmas Market & Raffle.
